Introduction:

The Holy Quran is the book of Allah. It was revealed to prophet Mohammad in Makkah and in al-Madinah over a period of about twenty-three years. The style and the technique of the Holy Quran is not human. Therefore, no one can imitate it . The Holy Quran challenged its hostile critics to imitate its style. It challenged them to imitate one surah or even one ayah. However no one could not win the challenge however, hostile or educated they are. The Holy Quran remains victorious over ages. Allah vowed to preserve the Holy Quran. Therefore, no  alternation, modification or decay can touch the Holy Quran.

The fondness of Muslims of the Holy Quran:

Allah describes the Holy Quran as the divine book of Allah. That is why Muslims are keen on memorizing, reading and reciting the Holy Quran day and night and everywhere. First of all, there is a great reward for a Muslim who is skillful at reading and reciting the Holy Quran. Allah says: ((“We have made the Quran easy to recite, shall you do”))

Also prophet Mohammad said ((“Whoever has read only one letter of the Holy Quran has a good deed gets two fold for  the good deed to ten or seven hundred in number. I don’t say Alif Laam Meem is one letter. Rather, Alif is a letter, Laam is a letter and Meem is a letter”)).

The Holy Quran and the arts of recitation:

Firstly, ever since Muslims wrote the Quran in one book, Muslims have competed to study, write, read and recite the Holy Quran. Therefore, the sciences of the Holy Quran have emerged. First, craftsmen developed the art of making paper to write on. Others developed the art of making the Holy Book. Second, calligraphers and orthographers developed clear Arabic handwriting to make the writing of the verses of Allah as clear as possible. Third, artists competed to decorate the margins and the layout of the Sacred Book. Printers, printing houses and book producers did their best to make the book of Allah available everywhere.

The veterans of the Holy Quran:

In the first  place, as a sign of Allah’s preservation of the Holy Book, Muslims  still read and recite in the same way prophet Mohammad read and recited it himself. From senior to junior, Muslims have inherited the way of reciting and reading the Holy Quran. This has been regardless of the change of people, generations, time and place where Muslims are. This has been simply because Muslims have developed the science of Tajweed. Tajweed literally means making perfect. It is not sufficient to read the Holy Quran correctly. However,  Muslims must read the Holy Quran the perfect way with Tajweed. . Tajweed focuses on  producing every single sound in the Holy Quran in the perfect way and tone.

The spread of Islam and Muslims:

Initially, Islam is like water. It spreads in its own way. Islam has its own ability to spread naturally. Therefore, it was natural that non-Arabs embraced Islam. Over time, those non-Arabs became familiar with Arabic and the Holy Quran. Arabic vocabulary and grammar have crept into their native languages. Some other basically non Arab countries have adopted Arabic as their first, native and everyday language. They even excelled in reciting the Holy Quran and became masters in recitation. Therefore, it was important, especially after the development in audio recording, that Muslims listened to perfect recitations by professional masters of recitations all over the Muslim world.

Later on and many centuries ago, Muslims began to move to non Muslim countries in Europe, the Americas and Australia. The first and second generations of immigrants almost found no difficulties in reciting the Holy Quran and preserving and maintaining their Islamic culture. However, with the third and the fourth generations of immigrants, there emerged the need to learn how to perfectly recite the Holy Quran in an independent way. Therefore, E-aalim has come up with a simple, but genius idea. They have produced Mushaf Aalim. Mushaf Aalim aims to enable Muslims everywhere to recite the Holy Quran on their own. A Muslim is not in need of someone to help them recite the Holy Quran in the perfect way.

How Mushaf Aalim works:

Due to their scrutinizing study of the Holy Quran, the E-aalim think tank team have noticed that the Holy Quran consists of surahs. Surahs consist of ayahs. Ayahs consist of words. The Quranic words, like any other Arabic words, consist of syllables. The syllables vary. Some syllables are short ones. They are the majority of the syllables in the Holy Quran. Therefore, short syllables were left black in color. The second category of syllables are the long syllables. Long syllables contain long vowels. Therefore they were colored in red. Third, the Sakin and Tanween syllables were colored in the blue color. Fourth, the Mushaddad syllables were colored in the light green color. However, the Mushaddad syllables can be long or contain Tanween. These were colored in the dark green color. Finally, there are some few syllables which are silent; they are written but not pronounced. Therefore, such syllables were colored in the orange color.
