At the first stage of abdel- malik ibn marwan’s reign, the Muslim state witnessed a hard time of political instability. Practically, the Muslim state split into two states. This went on till the khalifa set the foundations for his strong state. He could protect its borders and increase its power. abdel- marwan managed to spread islam as far as possible. Conquering Morocco helped him a lot in this respect. Before his death, he recommended power handing to his son Walid and made his other son, Soliman, the crown prince. Abdel-Malik remained in power for twenty years. During his reign, Muslims invented and introduced dots to some Arabic alphabet letters in the Mushaf.

After the expansion in the Muslim conquests, Abdel-Malik issued the umayyad dinar. It was the first Muslim unified coin. It was of a uniform weight and value. Abdel-Malik put his name on that dinar. Moreover, Abdel-Malik sent silk textile to Makkah to cover al-Kaaba with it . In addition, Abdel-Malik conquered North Africa. Abdel-Malik gave intellectuals and men of letters special care. In addition, he expanded the muslim state in a remarkable way. eastward, it reached Sistan. Abdel-Malik also founded the first Muslim navy base in Tunisia. Furthermore, he built countless mosques. This was in all the Muslim countries, especially in Damascus, Jerusalem including the masque of the Rock Dome.

Abdel-Malik ibn Marawan created a kind of political unity all over the Muslim provinces. He managed to attain this through imposing a strong security system all over the Muslim state. Abdel-Malik ibn Marawan was a good model and example of the successful Umayyad Khalifas who rendered great service to Islam as well as Muslims. Therefore, historians consider Abdel-Malik ibn Marawan one of the greatest umayyad Khalifas. This was due to the prosperity and the welfare which the Muslim state witnessed during his reign. Therefore, it was the best Muslim state ever. These great endeavors and contributions made his name eternal in the Muslim history.
